Animal Rescue
Who are we?
We are a group of dedicated animal lovers from Chester County, PA. What started as a way to help save horses from slaughter, has morphed into a full-scale animal rescue and rehab. We now have evolved and expanded to accommodate sheep, goats, poultry, guinea pigs, hamsters, and some other exotics. We take them in, evaluate them, train if necessary, then get them into loving new homes! It’s not cheap or easy, but it is really rewarding to see them thriving in their new places! Helping one animal will not change the world, but it will change the world for that one animal!

Christine Lyngarkos
One Life at a Time is operated by Christine Lyngarkos, with the help of many volunteers. Christine has been involved in animal rescue since she graduated high school in 2000. She has a lifelong love of animals, especially horses.
In addition, Christine is interested in holistic medicine, herbalism, knitting and camping. When she is not rescuing, she enjoys riding and spending time with her horse Benjamin. Her specialty is rehabbing older horses in memory of her childhood horse Chester.
Christine and her crew of volunteers work very closely to make the best decisions they can for the animals to live happy and healthy lives.
Lisa Ivey
Lisa Ivey is our resident crazy goat lady. She heads up the Schuylkill county branch of One Life. Her hobbies include watching videos of opossums, testing the limits of how many farm animals can fit in a mini van and rescuing goats. She takes on our particularly difficult rehab cases that need round-the-clock or hospice care. Lisa lives with her husband James and 4 children.
